Well, last night hubby and I had a long conversation about looking into the possibility of moving.  First of all, we'd never even entertained the idea of moving out of the USA before a couple of years ago.  That was our third time to Mexico and we find it harder to leave each time.  Not so much because of our best friend's place at the Royal Haciendas in Playa del Carmen, although it's fantastically amazing! But, because of the climate, the people, the standard of living, the enjoyment of life, the slower pace - and the fact that we all feel healthier down there.

I'm not sure if it's my fibromyalgia, my asthma, or just my age (HA!) but winters are harder and harder to take.  This winter hasn't been so bad. Heck, it's going to hit near 70 degrees today, so I'm good with that! However, the salty sea air and the humidity and the warmth - well, it makes it so hard to stay here when it's something we could experience down there nearly year-round.  We talked to a Mayan/Mexican tour guide one year down near Tulum and he said there are two seasons in Quintana Roo (which borders Belize) - Caliente and Muy Caliente.  I can tell you, I'd love both seasons!!

So, at least the dialogue has opened for the possibility of becoming an ex-pat. *rubbing hands together gleefully*

Ok, it would be nice to have an actual plan, but right now, it's just a dream.  A thought.  Something we are just looking into at this point. However, the cool thing is, hubby is more into this than he was retiring in Mexico!  I know that , first of all, Belize's official language is English and that's a big draw for him.  Also, many expats continue to work for foreign-based companies, and that's another draw.  But, with his skillset, I can see him opening his own computer operation there.  Again, it's just something we're considering right now.  Looking at all the possibilities!  If you have any comments or helpful tips, please feel free to post!
